“I’ve learned that anything in life worth having comes from patience and hard work.” – Greg Behrendt

A quote that Software Engineering Manager, Ghiffary Yuthian (Eghi) strongly believes in and lives up to at Grab.

As part of the GrabRentals team, our vertical that rents cars to our driver-partners, Eghi admits that he knew there was so much he didn’t know and had to learn about the business. But true to his nature and the spirit at Grab, he and his team focused on knowledge gathering and familiarising with the system. Very often, Egi also reached out to different teams and engineers to seek their advice and learnings.

Fast forward to September 2022, Eghi’s team is now the first Fulfilment in tech family team at Grab to be based out of our office in Indonesia.

“It wasn’t easy at the start, especially handling the different needs of several stakeholders. But I’m glad that in a short amount of time, we’ve been able to make a big impact not only in the business, but also in our community.”

And with big impact comes high growth, and every Grabber has an important role to contribute to it. “We are always looking for talented folks who are eager to learn, and passionate about making a difference to those around them,” says Egi.

Eghi believes team and project management skills are a must-have.

“Have the hunger to create impact and take ownership in your work. Hard skills are important, but the most important thing is the hunger to learn.”
