Join the Strategy and Planning team at Grab - the team responsible for driving holistic business health across the GrabFood platform. We don't just own demand; we cover the full picture: supply reliability, merchant performance, and competitive intelligence across the markets we operate in.
We collaborate with Commercial, Operations, and Central Strategy. We are the analytical backbone that keeps the GrabFood business ahead. We conduct performance tracking, gaps analysis, and competitor analysis. Most importantly, we translate insights into decisions that move the business.
Get to Know the Role
You will report to the S&P Head and co-lead the GrabFood outcomes for your managed region. As the primary S&P counterpart to Region Operations and Commercial leadership, you will help to shape prioritization.
You will both translate Central S&P direction into region-level execution and feed region-level insights upward to shape central strategy - bridging ground-level visibility with leadership-level decision-making. You will lead the regional S&P analyst team, raising the analytical bar and ensuring output quality across the board.
You will be based onsite in Jakarta. You will be required to travel regularly for market visits and leadership forums.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Lead the region's performance narrative, connect signals across demand, supply, and competition into a valuable insights
- Set the analytical agenda for the region on prioritization, deep-dive analysis/investigation, and escalation before it surfaces in the topline numbers
- Maintain an understanding between Region Operations and Commercial, resolve issues, and execution
- Develop analyst(s) in the team, ensure data-driven decision-making, maintain quality and reliability of team's output
- Represent the region in leadership forums — City Pulse Check, Business Reviews, and planning cycles — with structured, decision-ready recommendations
- Identify strategic risks and opportunities, and surface them to the Strategy & Planning Head with clear solutions
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategy, analytics, or business management at a management consulting firm, tech company, or e-commerce business
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar fields
- High owernship — you treat the business as your own, set high-quality standard on the team around you, and move with urgency when it matters
- Business accumen - able to connect data to decisions and frame recommendations for senior partners
- Lead, influence, and align teams without direct authority
- Experience managing and coaching junior team members
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools; comfort with Python and data visualization platforms is an added value
- Business-level proficiency in English, both written and spoken
