Lead Product Manager, Data Platform
Get to Know the Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead Product Manager to join our Technical Infrastructure team, specifically focusing on the Data Platform. In this role, you will own the strategic direction and execution of our data platform, collaborating with engineering, data science, analytics, and product teams to identify areas for improvement and develop impactful solutions. The Data Platform team empowers the underlying platform and infrastructure that supports all data applications across the organization, including data ingestion, data storage, data discovery, data query, data quality, and data activation. You will work with cross-functional leaders across the company to drive organization-wide changes and report to the Head of Product, Data & AI.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Define and execute the product strategy for the Data Platform, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving organization-wide adoption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, analytics, and product to identify opportunities for improvement and develop tailored solutions
- Gather requirements, conduct user research with internal stakeholders, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team focuses on high-impact projects
- Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and deeply understand their needs, challenges, and use cases across the organization
- Drive the adoption and onboarding of internal tools and the Data Platform, ensuring user engagement and success across all teams
- Oversee product launches and go-to-market activities for internal tools and data platforms, communicating value and driving organizational alignment
- Communicate product vision, progress, and outcomes with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring the team's work is well-understood and well-supported
- Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps that balance short-term deliverables with long-term strategic initiatives
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product adoption, user success, and platform impact
- Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Product Management: 5+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in managing internal tools or data/AI platforms
- Systems and Data Management Practices: Strong understanding of modern Data platforms, infrastructure, practices, and tools
- Analytical and Problem-Solving: Proficient in data-driven decision-making
- Stakeholder Communication: Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Technical Discussions: Comfortable engaging in high-level technical discussions and explaining AI topics to a non-technical audience
- User Research and Requirements Gathering: Skill in gathering requirements and conducting user research
- Project Execution: Experience in prioritizing backlogs to deliver high-impact projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience working in agile or iterative development environments**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling data platform products or features
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure)
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data querying and analysis tools
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their applications in data platforms
- Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies
- Experience in a fast-paced, startup, or scale-up environment
- Background in data science, engineering, or related technical field
- Experience building products for technical audiences or developer-focused platforms
- Experience with product management tools, data visualization platforms, and project management software
